May 28-29, 2016 Decatur AL Balloon Jubilee
I went down to Decatur AL and met Jim Pierson from the PSC for the annual balloon jubilee. As so often happens, bad weather caused the Saturday morning launch to be cancelled. I did photograph some very interesting skies, including a rainbow. We also wandered around the display of old tractors.
Saturday afternoon the weather cleared and we returned for the afternoon flights and the evening glow and a performance by a Journey tribute band which was excellent.
Sunday morning looked like bad weather again so we headed out assuming the balloons wouldn't fly again.
On returning home, I took those interesting morning sky shots and used them as a background for some of the afternoon flights.
